Why did you become franchisees?
After doing our market analysis for our own arcade concept, we started seeing some VR Arcades open up before us in Edmonton. We decided to reach out to Ctrl V to inquire about their franchising option. After reviewing the information and meeting the team, we felt it was a great team to work with and they brought a lot of experience and value to the partnership.

How did you learn about your franchise and what made you choose it?
We learned about Ctrl V through our market analysis of VR Arcades around the world. When we did our analysis in July 2016, we found Ctrl V to be the most mature and forward thinking in the space. In the end, we decided it would be better to work with them than to compete against them as a stand-alone Arcade.

What do you love most about being a franchisee?
We really enjoy having a group of people to work with on larger issues like licensing, marketing, graphics design, and troubleshooting.  We also enjoy the fact that head office is open to new ideas and collaborative.

What are your top three tips for success? 

  1. Know your market and look for the franchise that gives you the most competitive edge.
  2. Try to determine if the franchise is trying to work with you or if you’re just another paycheck.
  3. Realize that you don’t have full control and find a way to work collaboratively within the franchisor’s rules.
